Comments Thread For: Mike Alvarado Discusses Marquez, Rios, Career, More

Denver, Colorado’s Mike Alvarado seems to be as straight forward as they come. An unbeaten contender in the junior welterweight class, Alvarado will find himself standing across the ring from the very-capable Mauricio Herrera inside of the Mandalay Bay tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada in a bout that is sure to entertain.

I like Mike alot!! But as soon a someone ca take on his punches, hes getting out-boxed. Just like prescott did, but he didn't couldn't finish what he started... Hopefully we can see him fighting for a title this year! WAR MIKE!

Stay away from Robert Guerrero. He'll outbox everyone at 140.

I love this guy! Down to earth and a fearless warrior. If he beats Herrera, put him up against the winner of Khan-Peterson.

Lol. The guy has never even fought at 140 before! He'll certainly bore everyone to death at 140, though.

Prescott was beating Mike up pretty good those first 5 rounds. However, Alvarado won rounds 6-9 though and stopped Prescott in the 10th. It was like 2 different fights.

If he beats Herrera, I'd love to see him fight Brandon Rios at 140, that'd be a 50/50 fight and a war. But I think Rios is going to fight Marquez in July anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing Alvarado fight someone like Joan Guzman, Zab Judah, or Johan Perez in the summer. Than, if Rios loses to Marquez, that fight is still there.
