Floyd's power is underated, cause people just concentrate on how tight his defense is, and he doesnt have to rely on his power to win fights.

      shane disagrees with you...

LAS VEGAS -- After nearly being shut out over the course of Saturday night's unanimous decision loss to eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao in defense of Pacquiao's WBO welterweight belt, Shane Mosley called Pacquiao, "The pound-for-pound king," and, the "Tougher fighter" between him and six-time titlist Floyd Mayweather.

As said above. shane relies on his power thus he throws hard shots more often looking for the KO. similar to tyson when compared to ali. ali knocked liston with a shot he didnt see. not some loaded haymaker. floyd check hook on hatton isnt a loaded shot but a quick deceptive counter. punches you dont see comming are more dangerous than loaded punches. and floyd doesnt need the volume to knock cotto out. boxers with high volume are usualy not as precise. floyd will pick his shots and pick him apart. hes more of a sniper than a machine gunner. but who hits harder at 154 i will go with shane because shane has ko at 154 and floyd only fought there once.

Shane hits harder than Floyd regardless of weight

It's not the power of Floyd we're counting on to stop Cotto. It's the accuracy, precision, and timing.

This is one of the most pointless questions I've seen asked in a while...

Mosley is clearly the harder puncher. It's not even close.

However, as for the real point of the thread, Mayweather could stop Cotto with clean accurate counters that Cotto doesn't see. Power isn't the only factor in a stoppage.

Yeah, Tszyu landed some pretty clean hard shots that Hatton walked through... Mayweather was snapping his head back with shots and stopped him with counters.

Mosely loads up on the right hand a lot, and if it lands... it's gunna hurt. But it's also easier to see coming that Mayweathers shots. That said, I don't think Mayweather will stop Cotto anyway.
