Comments Thread For: Garcia Discusses Rios, Pavlik, Margarito, Maidana, More

Given the abundance of talent and high-profile fighters constantly around him, trainer Robert Garcia is often going to be seeing his name in the headlines.

Based out of Oxnard, California, Garcia is presently in Las Vegas, as he will be guiding his fighter, former lightweight champion Brandon Rios, into battle later tonight as he will be meeting up with brash Cuban Richard Abril at the Mandalay Bay. The bombastic Rios has gotten into a few heated altercations and a well-documented war of words with Abril amidst the lead up to their fight and Garcia has simply sat back and taken everything in with a smile on his face.

Senorita, if Rios is a punk for talking sh.it to somebody who provoked him first I'd hate to know what you think of your countrymen who talk sh.it without being provoked like Felix Trindad, WV2, Edwin Rosario, Wilfredo Gomez, Hector Camacho, etc. Those Ricans are actually pretty cool dudes btw..........anyways, only a punk says that about some dude when
        1) they don't know him
        2) when they could say it to the dude's face

You can't blame the trainer for a fighter's weight issues. A trainer can't be expected to babysit a fighter.
