I seem to remember for the JMM fight pretty much at every turn Floyd or somebody close to him saying this is a welterweight fight. You would think JMM and his team might ask about that if they were really bothered, I am sure they knew the deal because JMM is a stud and would not want to beat Floyd on the scales he would want him at his best~
Marquez was not the problem. It was Floyd in that Floyd wanted to beat him at the scales and didn't care if Marquez was at his best at WW!

Floyd is all for "fair play" unless its about him being fair.

Didnt FLoyd pay a fine because he refused to weigh in on fight night.

Heres my guess, on the last weigh in, Floyd will be @ 150.5 and Cotto @ 152... Yeah, I said it first.

JMM didn't have to fight Floyd he wanted to~ be careful what you wish for you just might get it~

JMM said he viewed Floyd as the best, if you view a guy as the best if you have any pride you want to see that guy at his best and see how you match up. I know JMM has plenty of pride~

Plus how many guys that come in overweight pretty much say "Hey I am coming in over" for months before hand. If you don't think everyone knew the deal I don't know what to say.

No need. It wouldn't do him any good to come in heavy.

Of course Marquez said he wanted it ... he wanted the chance to fight Floyd and get a decent pay day to boot! Hatton said the same ..... moved up from his career 140lbs weight ..... but they are at a deficit!!!

Still, Floyd didn't say what you said about Marquez. You know "I want to see Marquez fight me at a fair weight".

That fight shouldn't even have been made. It's a lose lose situation for Floyd just like it was for Manny when he asked Marquez to come up to 144lbs .... but at least we saw that Marquez came in better prepared and in shape for the 144lbs fight .... there was no difference in size between Manny and Marquez ..... there definitely was with Floyd.

I thought Flyod paid a fine for weighing in over, and he did refuse to weigh in on fight night against marquez, as I recall

I didn't have a problem with either fight. I feel you on the whole lose-lose thing and this goes for any top fighter really, that once you reach a certain level a guy needs to win impressively or they will face a certain level of critisism while the lesser guy needs to only look like they belong. That is the pressure of being a top guy.

All I remember Floyd saying for the JMM fight is this is a welterweight fight and there being a real question in the whole build-up over the weight. Hell, I even remember Schaeffer saying tune in and find out it is part of the surprise, and he was representing JMM in that fight. So I never got the big deal about that because it seemed so obvious that everybody had to know the deal which is why it went so smooth.

How I felt about Floyd-Hatton is the same as I felt about Manny-JMM 3 whatever class they fought in was fair because both guys were of similar size. Floyd is a bit bigger than JMM though mainly in height and length as opposed to mass.
