Well, ring magazine has him at #4 right now. You can argue he doesn't deserve being that high, but the thing about the middleweight division is that nobody has really fought each other yet. The top 10 is really chosen by who has the most padded record.

This tells you something about Jr's punching power.

Even with all that size, he's below average IMO.

It was a very close fight and naturally the defending champion/ hometown hero got the benefit of the doubt. I'm Irish and there's still no complaints from me. Martinez V Strum.... we can only dream.
Please, stop! So the hometown fighter should always get the nod in a close fight even if they lose? GTFOH with that BS.

Ring's ratings suck. I remember a few years ago when they called Sturm a possible HOfer. Zbik never, ever beat anybody worth a ****e before Chavez, but you're right, the 160-pounders have a lot of highly rated guys with pretty, padded records

You got trouble reading mate? he didn't just say hometown fighter, he said defending champion.

Very true. Chavez jr. along with Kirkland need to move up in weight. There's no excuse for gaining 20+ pounds overnight.
