Rios could barely make weight his last fight. That was a big factor on his performance in that last fight. I like Rios though. I want to see him move up to better opponents after this fight. To say he's a bum is crazy. You don't become a world champion if you're a "bum bum". In my eyes he's a good prospect still coming up. He still needs to prove himself on the elite level of competition but he's by far not a bum.

I see nothing in Rios but a guy who can't do anything unless you stand right infront of him or lay on the ropes. When Acosta showed him some movement he didn't know WTF to do, he looked lost, uncoordinated & had no answer what so ever.
His footwork is absolutely horrific, he has no jab or boxing ability what so ever.

Its unbelievable how he has such a huge fanbase & is so highly praised because all I see is how I imagine Maidana to look when hes 45.
The only time I'd ever pay to see this guy fight is if he fought say Michael Katsidis @ 140 or 135 for that matter.
P.P.V main event, what a joke.

Whos better conditioned than rios? abril? because rios spars like 16 rounds and has a S&C coach.

Once rios non-stop pressure catches up to you then you have no choice but to stand in front of him. and his footwork doesnt suck he closes the gap very quickly and cuts off the ring very well.

All bs aside, I agree with this.

Rios isn't this athletically gifted specimen with insane hand speed, one punch KO power, but what he does do he does well. He hits hard and his feet are quicker than they appear. For instance, he's good at anticipating changes of direction, so he uses he's decently quick feet to almost always stay in front of you. It remains to be seen how he'd handle a supremely gifted athlete, but I think if he can stay on Abril all night, he should have this. If Abril hits harder than we think, and can avoid too much punishment, he's got a decent chance.

I also disagree with the Maidana comparison. Rios isn't AS slow. He's not as "violent" I guess you can say too, he's more machine like.

Bam Bam's not a bum at all. He just doesn't have the most career lasting type of style.

Either way, Bam shouldn't be fighting Abril, but someone more worthy that can give a good fight.

I've seen Abril fight before and he doesn't stand a chance.

Abril can be awkward and tricky. Although the Acosta Abril beat probably wasn't anywhere close to the one Rios beat, I think Abril could do well in this fight. At the least I expect Abril to make Rios look a bit silly sometimes. Will be interesting to see this fight.........

Their fights weren't even a year apart.... Or maybe Abril just made him look that way?

Acosta has 3 losses, could of been 4 or 5 actually against nobodies, also 2 draws.
Only time he looked good was against C level slugger Antillion, a good a tear up.
dont forget the acosta took the fight in 3 day notice, so don give too much credit to abril,

I just hope is good fight, like all rios fights,

Most overrated fighter I've seen in my entire fcuking life.

You heard it here first, that almost unheard of feather-fisted Cuban kid Richie Abril will school the **** out of him.
****** ass wannabe fat version of Margarito ain't ****.

Abril will outbox him all night long, I'm telling you, hell if it turns into a brawl, if Rios can make it a brawl Abril likely stops him late.

A tall, well rounded, slick, skillful Cuban vs a zombie! An absolute plodding, poor mans Marcos Maidana

You can all laugh, I told you all he'd go life & death with British cleaner John Murray and you all laughed. Abril EXPOSES this kid tomorrow night whether he gets the decision is another thing.

Look forward to hearing more excuses about weight, etc
I think Rios has a crowd pleasing relentless style.. Personally I would love for someone to shut him up cause hes irritating as hell but ill still watch and follow his career cause of his style.
