I found "death by a thousand left hands" already a bit over the top (even though the win over De La Hoya was mad impressive at that point), but the whole "**** **** **** ... **** ... try stop me, ****! ... you wanna throw? ****! ... **** ****..." against a very inactive Joshua Clottey easily takes the cake.

it's not too unreasonable thing to say/

The "****" comments from Jim always stuck with me. It was pretty funny, but what was even funnier is that none of those punches even landed from what I can remember.

They seem to be biased towards other fighters as well. Linares vs DeMarco for example. Up until the fight turned around it was "Linares this & Linares that". After one of the cuts opened up I think I remember hearing Emanuel Stewart call himself out on it.

yea, he looked real offensive vs Marquez
Yeah, that was a bad fight, but in other fights you could make a case for him being one of the most explosive offensive fighters in recent history. Terry Norris, Tyson also have claims to that, at least in recent years.

I actually was speaking with Al Bernstein after the Margarito fight and he felt that Pacquiao was one of the best offensive fighters he's ever seen, even stated confidently that he was greater than Duran.

During the third Marquez fight, Steward said "This is the best I've seen Manny Pacquiao look" during the first round or two, can't remember which round.

I remember hearing Lampley during the Mayweather-Ortiz fight, I think it was in the 3rd round......Mayweather was on the ropes and Ortiz jumped in, and got countered with two left hooks from Floyd, and Lampley yelled "Another straight left from Ortiz!!!". I mean, it was completely called wrong from what actually just happened, it was awful. Or at the end of the 3rd round, Ortiz rushed in again, and got countered with a right cross and then hit with and uppercut from Floyd, and Lampley said "Good right hand from Victor Ortiz, he's quick enough to fight with Floyd Mayweather".......Jim Lampley is god awful.

I'll take Gus Johnson, Al Bernstein, and Antonio Tarver anyday over Lampley-Steward-Merchant. Kellerman isn't sooooo bad at times, and Steward isn't always THAT bad. But SHOWTIME usually does a better job to me.

Lampley is horrendeous these days. The only member of the HBO crew that I can't stand. Say what you want about Kellerman, Stewart and Merchant but at least they don't hesitate to criticize the HBO fighter, the marquee name, while Lampley is almost always biased towards the bigger star. He tried to find excuses for Donaire and Martinez not looking good in their last couple fights, ignored most of the work Marquez did in the 3rd Pac fight and he often calls punches that don't land, usually favoring the bigger name. He clearly has an agenda, you know HBO tells him who he needs to "side" with for every big fight.
