Completely disagree. Skill is something you learn, something that requires practice to become proficient with. You don't learn to be fast or punch hard, that's the talent you enter the sport with. You can train to improve your physical attributes, but some guys are simply born faster and stronger, they have more talent. A guy can train to have the skill Floyd Mayweather has, but he can't train to be as fast.

And Bradley's speed isn't comparable to young Pacquiao, and I don't think he's as fast as Pacquiao now at all. As far as stamina, Bradley never gets tired but then again he's never thrown a thousand punches in a fight either. I'd give a younger Pacquiao the nod there too.

I already said you were right concerning young Pacman because Bradley is better. So you can quit bringing that up.

Like I said talent is not speed & power, those are athleticism. By your own definition, I can say Pacman is a more talented boxer than Marquez because he's faster & has more power, then I'd be wrong. He's more athletic, but that's about it. The skill & talent where boxing is concerned would be lopsided in Marquez's favor.

1 more time speed & power are physical attributes aka athleticism. They are not talent. Talent in boxing pertains to the sport. not physical gifts. Bradley can fight with bigger punchers, faster fighters & boxers. That's talent.

Talent is athleticism. Talent is what you are born with, your natural ability to be great, or not be great if you lack talent. Talent is what you have when you walk in a gym and a trainer sees you. Skills are what that trainer teaches you. Pacquiao is more talented than Marquez, by far, he just never learned the skills that Marquez has.

Pacman is not more talented than Marquez in the slightest. Anyway I'm off to ride 25 miles or so, but I'll be back to continue.

We need someone else to chime in, we're just going in circles. I've always seen people separate skill and talent as two different things, it's why guys like Zab Judah are talented but they aren't skilled. Marquez isn't as talented as others, but he's incredibly skilled.

Someone else needs to comment on this.

I agree, we are going in circles. I call it athleticism & you call it talent.

Talent is somthing u're born with, skills is something u work on to get better. U don't train to become a fast runner, Instead u train to run faster. If u're not a fast runner no matter how much and hard u train u will not be a fast runner. Now if u're fast already then u train to become faster.

When I think of talent, I think of an actor/actress on the big screen. Talented actors/actresses win Oscars. I wouldn't tie talent over to sports. I just don't like that word although they could ultimately mean the same thing. Another example is a musician like Stevie Wonder/ Alicia Keys who can sing and play the piano at the same time. That's talent; they also had to work hard at it.

When I think athletic, I think of someone like Jordan, Lebron, or RJJ who were just born to do what they do. Athleticism is something you can't teach.

When I think of skills, I think of someone like Larry Bird or Hopkins. They make up for in skills what they lack in the athletic dept.

The word talent is meaningless - there is no real precise definition for it. I think yall should drop the word entirely.
