    38. Two old dudes fighting against eachother won't seal their legacies. Floyd was already a hall of famer since 135, the rest is just icing.

So would he become the best fighter of the era? or would he need other big wins on his name for him to be remembered as the best of this era.
He would definitely be remembered for beating Mayweather......

But it depends if Floyd was KO'ed at 160, hmmm I would say no. But if it was 154 he would have to beat Floyd again, as you know there would be a rematch immediately.

I mean a KO imo isnt that big a deal for a bigger fighter if its at 160.... KO simply means you landed, doesnt mean you were handing someone their ass necessarily.

Too many points you need to clarify. I mean imagine Floyd beating him 8 rounds to 3 and in the 12th, Floyd getting caught and knocked out. Not really dramatic IMO....

BUT HE WOULD DEFINITELY BE REMEMBERED, BUT I WOULD SAY THE BEST OF THIS ERA. HE'S KINDA LACKING AND REALLY ONLY BECAME REALLY RELEVANT A FEW YEARS BACK. He lost to margarito in this era as well remember....

So you're saying a ko of a 37 yr old floyd mayweather is worth shi t?

"old dudes" who are smoking the younger generation? Lol. If anything, this is proof that the next gen are garbage but these "old dude0 can motha***in fight. You, as usual are short sighted. These guys are well preserved as opposed to a guy from the golden age that was 37 or someone like srl fighting at 37.

I love to see the excuses piling up by floyd fans before the fight even happens.

No, not the best fighter of the era, but he'd be a top 3 pfp guy no question.
Hes top 3 right now aint he??

I wouldnt use it as an excuse, but it does depend on how it happens...

He wouldnt get ATG STATUS THOUGH, OR BEST OF THIS ERA STATUS, BUT HE COULD PROBABLY GET IN THE HOF off of it.... PROBABLY

If its a punch that just lands after hes getting dominated then imo a rematch would be needed to decided if it was a fluke or not.....

            No.

Why isn't Martinez trying to fight Sturm or Geale?

This would be the equivalent of when Hagler fought Duran. Although that one went 15. Never the less, it isn't looked at as something special.

He's an arguable top 3 pfp guy right now imo. The top 2 are not arguable and maybe jmm at 3 isnt arguable either. If he ko'd floyd, no one could say he doesnt deserve top pfp status.

As far as the rest of your post goes, i agree. At this point though, id be shocked if floyd rematched sergio if sergio beat him.

The fight would happen at 154. Where Floyd has and will fight at. He'd go down as beating the best of this era, but not as the best. He'd be number #1 P4P with that win though...dont know for how long, but the top 3, if anyone beats each other there, that basically puts you at number 1.

It's hard to destinguish the best of this era aside from Floyd because of how selective the "best" have been, inuding Floyd. Floyd is basically the best by default if you think about it.... There'd be many who would considered him up there. I mean, it's a little hard to dispute since Martinez is older so that kind of throws the "age" thing out as an excuse. This is much different than Bernard-Oscar because nobody has really "beaten" Martinez recently and when he lost to Marg, people will just say He had only been fighting a few years...which is true. Oscar convincingly lost to Shane, and controversially lost to Shane and Tito, not to mention his "win" over Sturm or "Win" over Quartey. Unfortunately, a win over Floyd right now is really the only way to prove you're the best.

Obviously, perception changes if he loses a rematch...but that win alone throws him into the HoF (providing its soon and Cotto doesnt pull it off). How does he NOT become the best of his era? It makes no sense.

Flick you're my homie but this is all wrong.

The first statement, i know you know the answer to and part 2, you know the fight would only be at 154, where its legit. Sergio would be coming down to floyd's weight.

Basically 154 is a legit weight for both, no doubt.
