it wouldn't have made more money 5-6 years ago. think about it - 5-6 years ago mayweather wasn't the biggest name in the sport(de la hoya still was) and cotto, although undefeated, wasn't as big a name as he is now. it may have made more sense but i guarantee you that it'll make more money now than it would've back then.
