After performing his morning run on the shore of Big Bear Lake, WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez stepped on the scale for the WBC's mandatory 30-day weigh-in. He faces former three division champion Shane Mosley on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Alvarez weighed in at 165.5 pounds in the presence of Rudy Tellez, the supervisor for the WBC. Alvarez came in at the maximum allowed weight (10% above the limit of 154-pounds).

That's an improvement he usually enters the ring at 170lb. No way Canelo will ever fight Chavez because Canelo is used to fighting with his own weight advantage.

Seems like a bit much 30 days out. He's definitely on his way up to 160 soon. Hope JCC Jr is still around for the battle of the "hype jobs." Alvarez will win that one imo.

11 pounds in a month doesn't seem too difficult. That's 3 pounds a week. He should do that pretty easily.
