Birds of the same feather duck together.
Someone is investing on his future, apparently, taking care of his food, rent, lawyer's fees, etc., in exchange for lucrative fights down the line. Question is when? One year, two years? That will involve hundreds and thousands of dollars. But is he worth that much? Could a guy like Gamboa would eventually command superstar status and make millions? In boxing, skill doesn't always go with money. It takes charisma and electricity in the ring. Marquez or Khan, for example, had to call out big name fighters to make the kind of money they want.
Damn, why didn't Gamboa just take the Rios opportunity? It's possible the fight would have produced two new supertars who don't have to rely on boxers on top to make tons of money.
