The money was just part of it. It's clear that this is primarily a ducking case which he learned from his friend Floyd. He knew he would be murked by Rios at this point. He needs a lot of training.

It's obvious to me that he is being taken care of by some rich guy, ie, lawyers fees, subsistence, etc. in exchange for lucrative fights. It make take a year or so before the lawsuit is settled. In short, he has investors backing him up spending thousands of dollars. Where do you think is this arrogant attitude of snubbing a promoter coming from?

Question is, is this guy really worth millions of dollars?

i think floyd is an exceptional talent but to be fair he has cherry picked his opposition there's no doubting that

he never took a risk with fighters like cotto or margarito when they were in their prime and very dangerous opponents

i still believe though that he has been the best fighter of his generation along with pacquiao (i know go figure right)

a prime dlh or mosley could maybe have beaten him but when they first fought in 2000 he was still at 130
and tszyu was meant to fight him but lost to hatton

Somehow I think a lot of the negative feelings Gamboa is getting is coming more from his association with his bud Floyd than his situation with his promoter.

Training for what??? Thats not how you prepare for the courtroom and he will not be fighting for a long time. Gamboa is one big a$$hole who didn't even have the heart to tell his boxing fans that he was sorry for pulling out of the fight. Apologizing to the fans is what boxers do over and over when they have a bad fight or something goes wrong. Not Gamboa. Too much of a Prima Donna.
