I had my first match 2 months after I began. It was in the Junior Olympic novice division. I won by RSC-1 at about 1 in the afternoon and then fought again at 11pm the same night losing a tough bout. I fought again 3 weeks later and won by RSC-3.

Everybody is different when it comes to getting started. Some guys will take different times to get going. Your trainer will let you know when your ready. Dont rush it man. Work hard, listen to your trainers and do it like you mean it.

Yeah, wreck your record by being ****** and rushy.

I've trained like a madman for 1 year, and I still havn't found my first fight.

I've been in the ring with tough opponents more then most people that have started their carrer, but I'm gonna win my first bout, no doubt about it.

I'm having my first match in January so it will have been about seven months, thats along time compared to Rockin.

My trainer/manager George says that he thinks I'm ready to go, but I've been sparring with some of his pro fighters to help them with their fights and that started about a month into when I first set foot in the gym, so I don't know why he waited so long. Probably becasue of my slow development of my head movement. When I first started it was difficult to move my head after I punched or just even naturally moving to avoid the other guys' punches, it just didn't come natural to me at first.

And man I was nervous the first time I sparred, its like when your getting hit, you realize that no one is gonna step in and stop it, so you gotta fire back.Plus I was sparring with some 6'4 225lb 26 year old, and I'm only 5'11 165. I was so tired after my first sparring session, cause I just threw everything at the guy and my stamina was terrible.

But I'm so much better now, I can't wait, I'm ready to go!

I was supposed to have a fight at about 3 or 4 months into it but twice in a row my fight got cancelled so it was really about 6 or 7 months since I had started I dont remeber. But after my first fight I had another fight a week and a half later.

It took me over a year because the first year I had a walkover for reasons unknown to me. Either there was nobody to fight or they didn't want to fight me, or my coach was protecting me. So I won the novice class golden gloves trophy in the superheavyweight division without even fighting. The next year I lost a split decision and got the runner up trophy. I thought I won the fight and so did everyone else that was there except maybe the other fighter and the judges. I lost interest after that and never stuck with it because I felt ripped off. I should have kept with it because I had ability but I couldn't keep in shape ala Kirk Johnson. My coach was the same coach that Scott Ledoux had, Poppa Joe Daskowitz. I hope I spelled his name right. He was an awesome man, rest his soul.
