Awesome!! I keep waiting for boxing on EPIX and every time I start to consider cancelling my subscription, good news like this gets me to hold on to it.

HBO and Showtime reallly dropped the ball on this one. I'm glad I switched cable companies last week and the main reason was the boxing on Epix.

why would hbo show a fighter who has a contract with showtime and showtime wants bute to fight the supersix winner not the super six runner up

So HBO wouldnt be able to televise this fight because of contractual issues? If thats the case how is Epix showing this? Showtime should show the fight because the fans want to see it and its a good fight that will help build Bute Ward if Bute can get the win.

no because if bute wins return to showtime to make more money for showtime hbo would be putting more money into showtime pockets

yes showtime should show this fight but they signed him to fight the super six winner so i guess his last fight with them must be the supersix winner

I dont see why HBO would concern themselves with that as long as they are putting on a quality fight that would have the interest of the fans. Later down the line theses guys could be potential opponents for Hopkins,Dawson,or even Pascal.

Im not familiar with Bute's contract with Showtime but if he only has one more fight with them it would probably make sense for them to show Froch Bute and extend Bute for one last fight against Ward if he can get by Froch.

                  Short-termist outlook I guess.

Showtime should've put it on, there's no guarantee Ward will fight Bute anyway. He's got a broken hand at the moment, not exactly an insignificant injury for a boxer career-wise.

HBO passing on it does not surprise me. They're more into event fights and whatever Haymon asks them to do these days.
