Bozo, LosCarta is a guy who is still around online talking a lot of boxing... he went back and forth with me for a LONG time telling me how he understands engineering and physics and all this mumbo jumbo and that was what allowed him to figure out how to throw a good jab, etc. What he and most others that never fought before don't understand is that hitting a bag or the air in front of yuor mirror isn't the same thing as hitting (trying to hit) an experienced man who has every intention of hitting you back in hopes of hurting you. EVERYBODY has a good jab in the mirror.

Nice read on the Toney sparring by the way Ice, I will definatly need to buy a copy of the book when it's out.

Don't suppose there's any video of you and JT going at it, is there?

It would be nice to add that to the sparring with RJ I have.

BOZO, I dont know for sure of any sparring with JT and I ON TAPE...but I remember this collector once telling me he was SURE he had some footage from the gym in 1993. I never saw it,though.

On the tape you have of RJ and I sparring is there a brief clip from right after we are done and the camera pans to ringside to see two guys sitting there talking and watching Roy and I? If so, you realize that is Sugar Ray and Gerald McClellam right??

I have a tape from way back when James and I are amatuers. I had agreed to box a guy that was known as being "At Large". In the amatuer game that is the highest honor. But what turns out to be another honor is that in the film James is my waterboy, carrying the spit bucket and all. It is an honorable thing to do, working a team mates corner with him. I am in no way degrading James in this post.

The clip I have ends with you thowing some shoe shining body shots on Roy. I looked but I couldn't spot Ray or the G man at ring side.

That some audience watching. Couldn't imagine the pressure of Ray Leondard watching me spar Roy Jones.

Does that ever get in your head when you're in the ring or are all those kinds of thoughts left behind?

When I was sparring RJ it was Ray and Gerald sitting there next to the ring... u can see them right at the very end of the sparring talking to each other... I actually forgot they were there every day because it was a camp SRL was running and I was focused on the sparring..thats the same tape... the one where I landed some good body shots in succession.

LOL JUY are you crazy?????????? So ANYBODY can go on a comp and say they are someone and that makes it so? Have you actually READ those posts? LOL This cyberworld is crazy, I find these nuts everywhere I go. Naughtywritergirl (she told me "Roy Jones has negative energy in the form of the church against him"), Loscartagena (he told me he has a "better jab than some pros" even though he never fought in his life...he said his background in engineering showed him the way), and BumperFroggy (he wanted to fight me and apparently drove 2 hours with his boys to my gym unannounced to fight me on a day that I was out of town LOL). Now I got JUY-JUY the amateur record keeper/on-line stalker. I gotta' put these people in my book.
