I was thinking about the Martinez-Margarito fight back in 2000, wondered if anyone had any similar examples to share.
I know Calzaghe and Byrd met as amateurs.

Sanchez & Nelson
Pep & SRR fought an amateur fight.
Khan schooled Ortiz in the amateurs
Calderon convicingly beat a young Cotto in the amateurs.
Groves and DeGale fought when they were quite inexperienced in the pro game.

I think Manfredo Jr. beat Bute in the amateurs or something like that.
Also Vasquez-Canelo... I think Canelo beat Vasquez on his debut, then beat him again a little later
