if they keep the venue (HDC) and date (July 7th) I can't see Lundy getting the shot. In fact I can't really see Thompson getting the shot (step aside money would come into play) they will need someone to kind of be a local attraction

On a side note, I can't believe my boy Linares lost to Thompson. I've never seen a fighter with the skill level he has that just can't get over the hump in his career. He's been stopped by Salgado and DeMarco, 2 pretty good fighters, but Sergio Thompson??? Man I was stunned.
I would cosign the molina rematch to see if he can overcome that particular flaw or simply just to earn some respect back in that he rematched and won convincingly. Im not expecting superman here but definitely should "dot that i".

As for Linares, i dont know man, i honestly think he may have a mental block or something of the like. Everything is there. Skill, speed, talent, athleticism, pop in his punch (no KO power but you can respect what he brings). Maybe the move to wilcard? I would cosign a nacho beristain intervention. Or perhaps is his being away from Japan? That's basically his home. Who knows? I still have hopes for this guy

Time to face facts......Linares has an excellent offensive game, but he just cannot take the heat. His chin is not world-class, he cuts and bruises easily, and he seems to come apart mentally when he's under heavy fire. He'll always be B-class. As far as Lundy....he has a great jab, but he won't hear the final bell against DeMarco.

Lundy suffers a rocky start, but goes on to put a boxing clinic on Demarco. Demarco is a decent fighter, but nothing special IMO. That was proven in the Valero fight. And, to an extent in the Linares fight, even though he got the win. IMO, Lundy is the dark horse of the Lightweight division. If he stays focused, he could be something special.

People say he has no power, and that's just BS. Look at his KO of Diaz for one. He doesn't have much power from the orthodox stance, but when he's in his natural southpaw stance, he has one hell of a left hand. He has enough pop to his shots to get a fighters respect. Also, the win percentage I believe of his last 6 opponents is 111(W)-9(L). This guy has fought his way up the ranks the hard way, without high promotional value, his whole televised career has been on ESPN. He deserves at the very least, a decent payday on Showtime or HBO, IMO.

A Molina rematch would be a solid choice avenge that after all DeMarco does basically the same thing so he'll need the practice.

Or if he can get a decent payday from ShoBox if there is such a thing against Bogere or Ramos Jr. but doubt he wants that kinda risk w/out a appropriate reward.
