Make it happen.. JMM will not be around forever, let the legend continue to extend his story. And maybe, just maybe, Rios can start his path to legendary status. If its in Dallas I'm there;-)

I dont think JMM sees this as a stepping stone fight. He said that about Khan but that was then and this is night & day. Khan was super fast, long, & extra hyped at the time. This was after JMM got killed by Floyd and Khan was seen as being even faster than Floyd while having a big height advantage on JMM. Not to mention, JMM was looking for the 3rd Pac fight and alot of people felt he couldnt fight at 140.

Now JMM has had the 3rd fight and looks better then ever at 140. I think he wants another Pac fight but he's not worried about taking other big fights before then. Khan was already at 140. Rios hasnt been there. JMM probably feels that if he can own Pac at that weight then he can do the same to Rios who he probably thinks is really overrated like others on here do.You can argue that he's made for JMM.

With all that being said, people cant forget that it wasnt long ago that some thought he was on the decline. He's older and can turn old overnight. Most of all, Rios is capable of fighting like Diaz who alot of people think gave JMM hell. You dont think Rios could do what Diaz did times 10? Its a very intriguing fight that I would love to see. I favor JMM but I wouldnt be shocked no matter what happens

he's from kansas.... what exactly are his ties to "Mexico", his whole boxing persona is a creation/put-together-project from top rank , its been well known that bob arum has asked Hispanic fighters to attached themselves to Mexico (i.e. wear there colors and flags), problem is, he isnt mexican ... its harder to get away with it now than in the 90's and 80's....

Juan Manuel Marquez would give Brandon Rios a boxing lesson then knock him out.

I would love to see this fight happen at 140, or somewhere in that general area. Would much rather see both guys come in comfortable and not killing themselves to make weight than have it happen at lightweight for the sake of fighting for some belt.

Is the fight going to be at 135 or 140?

marquez may be too old for rios...

but rios is too young for cry-baby-grandpa marquez...

the old man will spunk rios back to mediocrity...

Been saying this for awhile now.

Rios vs. Marquez in July, winner gets Pac in November.

Arum wants Rios to win, make no mistake about it, so he can fight Manny. It'd be a legit fight if Rios beat Marquez at 140, probably a B fight. But, Rios has NO SHOT against Manny. Pac is just all wrong for Rios. It'd be a complete beatdown in my opinion, and as you can see I'm a Rios fan.

At least it'd make 2 good fights for Manny in a row, when he went through those 3 fights in a row there that were terrible going in. And Rios would sell the casual fan with his trash talk no doubt.
