ibf/wba jr.welterweight champion ricky hatton under went plastic surgery to repair deep gashes over both eyes sustained in his rugged bout with carlos massua.it was originally thought the cuts would sideline hatton for as long as six months, but it has now been announced that the "hitman" could be back in training in two months to prepair for a fight in the u.s. in may,possible against gatti. in the mean time,hatton, who is being wooed by hbo,is headed to las vegas this week end to see taylor/hopkins.


nice. if hbo catches hatton i can see them having more leverage over mayweathers swelled head.hopefully leading to more game fights than what floyd has given us.

Right now HBO is cradling Floyd's balls and giving him 3.5 M every fight, no matter who He is fighting. They are getting there arses kicked by Showtime in terms of fights.

I think with Hatton coming to America it decreases the chance of this fight happening. Hatton will most likely fight Cotto next, because Floyd is a greedy bugger who will want the lions share of the money (which Hatton would recieve, and rightfully so).

HBO had a pretty good year as for PPV's, but Showtime kicked there arses in terms of the actual fights.

HBO sold us Hopkins - Wright, Trinidad - Wright, Jones - Tarver, Gatti - Mayweather etc. but they definetly did not live up to expectations while most of the Showtime cards did.

HBO also gave us crappy undercards, while the Showtime cards were top class.

Showtime had overall better cards. Toney - Guinn, Hatton - Tszyu, Castillo - Corrales to name a FEW. The undercards were also very good where you had guys like Lacy, Arce fighting.

HBO PPV's were good for numbers, but the actual fights were busts.
