Merida, Yucatan - With a barrage of powerful punches, Rogelio Medina scored a stoppage win over Jos� �Barretas�Pinz�n at 2:50 of the first round of their middleweigt battle. Medina (27-2, 21 KOs) was throwing bombs at Pinzon (21-3, 12 KOs) from the very start. Pinzon was hurt and his legs were unsteady, but he was defending himself when the referee waved it off.
