Comments Thread For: Povetkin's Manager: Chisora Fight Possible For The Fall

According to Vladimir Hrunov, the manager for WBA "regular" champion Alexander Povetkin, a fight with British boxer Dereck Chisora is possible for the fall if the Briton is able to obtain a license to box. Chisora is in the process of appealing a March 14 decision by the British Boxing Board of Control to strip him of his license after a brawl with compatriot David Haye in Germany last month.

The winner should be first in line to get a shot at Wlad.

That fight would probably take place in Russia.

Judging from Povetkin's last embarrassing performance I can see Chisora winning. Unless Povetkin won't seriously improve his stamina soon.

Thumbs up if Povetkin really fights Chisora! Chisora has great stamina when hes in shape like he was against Klitschko and Helenius. 12 rounds at a high workrate, you dont see a 240 pound heavyweight with that kind of workrate verry often! If Povetkin comes in bad shape again i cant see him winning against Chisora, he would be stopped IMO. Chisora has a good chin as well so Povetkin could never stop him. Back then Povetkin had a great workrate as well, when he fought Chambers, Byrd. But against Huck he was tired i round 4...

Dangerous match-up for Povetkin. He has to be in peak condition, otherwise Chisora might walk him down, and recently Povetkin has been far from peak condition.

Sounds like a good fight make it happen, they need neutral judges to make it fair.

Can't see it. Povetkin's a protected fighter. His team won't put him in against a dangerous opponent.

He'll eventually lose the '0' to Wlad.

I doubt he'll ever find the balls to do that. Perhaps Pove's manager will want to collect the K2 paycheck after Povetkin has no good fights left.
