I don't think I can think of 10 featherweights or 122lbers that are better than Morales. He could have competed with any of them, Pep, Arguello, I would give Morales a shot at beating any of them past or present. He ranks up with the best, he consistently fought at a high level, and fought 5 life and death battles with 2 ATG's in Barrera and Pacquiao, and only once was he beaten convincingly.

He can box, fight, every punch in the book, high skill level. His beating of Pacquiao was one of the greatest performances I have seen, he beat him in 11 rounds and then stood toe to toe in a southpaw stance. It was probably the last we saw of a prime Erik.

An ATG by definition is someone who would have been great in any era at or around his weight class. Morales happened to fight between 122-130 in my opinion at it's pinnacle, everything he accomplished (or didn't in this case) above that was a bonus. To put things into perspective Naseem Hamed was a pretty formiddable champion at 126 during his reign he beat quite a few former, future, and reigning champions, and Barrera dominated him. I personally feel Morales would have beat him just as convincingly, if not stpped him, and I am a big Naseem fan.

Conclusion: Undoubtedly ATG

Thing is, no one is saying Zaragoza was his best win, just an impressive win against one of the two best fighters in the division when Morales was very young. And you're acting like the win doesn't mean sh**, yet will slobber over Floyd's win over Genaro, who retired after fighting Floyd.

Even YOU can see how those two wins are somewhat similar, right?

Why are you guys bringing in Floyd and Pac, we are dealing with Morales, and no his win against Zaragoza was not a good win.... It was no better than Delahoya vs chavez... It simply is what it is....

Wow you really have it in for oscar huh?

I think he is very overrated. Now a lot of stuff I say is in a joking manner. Like all his fans are either females or ****sexuals. Of course I know this is not a fact but I like to troll his fans in that manner. Also say that Pac-Oscar was one of the greatest night if not the greatest night in boxing history again jokes. However, that night I was ecstatic I think it was a great night for boxing. But, also I was happy for JMM in the third Pac fight. What ****** is that he didn't get a decision I felt he deserved. If he would have gotten the W. I would think that would be a great night for boxing as well. Because, it serves them right for trying to cherry pick. That's the way I look at it.

I give Oscar credit, I think Oscar at 135 was a legit beast, I think he had the perfect combination of size, speed, power, strength. I think that was his best weight where he put in the most work. Ruelas, Hernandez, Molina, Leija, and Paez. For the short period time that he was there. That isn't bad.

Fun fact about Oscar. From his first pro debut to his last he had never in his pro career faced a fighter with a losing record. Look at Roy, Floyd, Pac whoever at one point in time they fought one fighter who had a losing record. Oscar never did, doesn't really mean much but it is a fun fact.

But, I do believe he is overrated. I don't think he is as skilled as some making him out to be, and I don't think he is as great as some make him out to be. I don't think he is an ATG, no doubt a HOF'er and should get in on his first try, first ballot HOF'er. Just not an ATG IMO.

I know I might be in the minority but I think prime for prime Pac would have beaten Oscar. I don't think Oscar skill for skill IQ for IQ is better than JMM. And, I don't think that's close either.

I'm not convinced that Oscar skill for skill is better than Pac. Maybe, but even if that's the case not sure if he could still beat Pac prime for prime.

This is all documented, also take into account that Pac weighed more than Delahoya, and you should have a pretty good picture.

To even insinuate that PAC has a higher ring IQ THAN DELAHOYA in itself is utter Bullshiiiiit!

this is ret@rded.......almost everyone who has a top 20 ATG list has mostly americans on their list. america produced a lot of great fighters.............so isn't that kinda dumb to judge me for something that can be said about even yourself. if you have more american fighters on your ATG list (vs any other country) a person can accuse you of the exact same thing.

who doesn't have more american fighters on their ATG list vs any other country? thats typical of most list. if you were to determine that I'm biased you could have used something else, because that wasn't a good example at all.
