I'm with this guy. Canelo hasn't faced better than the worst named.i have not seen much of trout but of the rest i would say he would beat Rosado
based on what canelo has shown against the limited and faded comp he has faced i would not favor him to beat any of the guys listed
so as of right now he goes 0-9 against
Cotto
Vanes
Lara
Molina
Kirkland
Williams
Angulo
Rodriguez
Bundrage
0-10 if you also include DzinzirukComment

he beats them all on the cards regardless of how good or bad he looks while fighting them because of course Golden Boy and even HBO is going to protect the hell out of him because he is a Huge Draw in Mexico and both feel they can make a ton of money off of him
but I think Molina and Lara would BEAT Alvarez right now, I like Trout as well but I have to see him in a BIG FIGHT first before I pick him over any of the top fighters at 154 but I do think he has all the skills to beat most of them...INCLUDING ALVAREZ!
also Demetrius Andrade is another guy with a lot of talent but haven't been tested yet, but he does have the TALENT to one day be at the Top of that 154 Division if he stays in it, his talent level and potential is even higher then Alvarez
then again the more I think about it...Alvarez really haven't been tested all that much either so...AND Fighting OLD WASHED UP FIGHTERS IS NOT BEING TESTED!
Molina last 3 fights was against Lara, Cintron and Kirkland and I think he won All 3 Fights, so I would pick him over Alvarez right now FOR SURE! Even Lara fight Molina and Williams is much tougher then anybody Alvarez has faced so far in his careerLast edited by KnockUTheFukOut; 03-31-2012, 01:57 PM.Comment

Ok, let's see what we got here. Let me start with who I wouldn't favor him against: Cotto, Lara, P. Williams. I would favor him against K9. I haven't seen enough of Rosado yet, so I'll leave him on the back-burner. Every other fight is 50-50, and for different reasons that I don't feel like going into, cuz then I'll have a wall of text like Brother Jay tends to do lol. I do like Canelo, and I think he's coming into his own, but he hasn't stopped anyone impressively and he hasn't been in there with somebody in prime physical condition. He's being brought up like a prospect who just so happens to have a belt attached to him. All I know is, if Shane has success against Canelo, then we're gonna know what time it is. If Canelo can't dominate a damn-near-shot Mosley on May 5th, I will bump this thread, cuz some of ya'll are putting him up on a pedestal as if he can clearly beat most, if not all of these guys. I'm not convinced just yet. Canelo has potential, and until he does something worthy of a champion, then that's what he'll continue to be.Comment

Why do people think Cotto beats him? Cotto is done, Canelo would be too fresh and strong for him.Comment

How I WISH we could've had a Cotto/Canelo show-down. But Floyd had to step into the equation and **** up the natural order.
Cotto's attributes aren't that far gone, and he has more experience than Canelo. He's still untested, still growing as a fighter, still figuring out his in-ring identity, and that's something that can be exploited. Cotto has the bigger skill-set, and Canelo isn't great defensively. Canelo has the physical attributes, but if he can't over-power/over-whelm Cotto, then he'll most likely get out-boxed. I would favor Cotto 60/40.
If anything, Floyd will show us how "done" Cotto really is. Hopefully he doesn't beat him up too badly lol.Comment
