Frank Warren insists Bernard Hopkins's promoters are the ones that suggested a light-heavyweight unification clash between Hopkins and Nathan Cleverly. Retired great Joe Calzaghe had warned Hopkins would not fight his fellow Welshman as Cleverly was not a "big enough in America" and "too dangerous." But promoter Warren insists Hopkins will have a "big payday" if he crosses the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

Cleverly is ****, how is he a World Champ? What's the point if he doesn't want to defend it properly? He's nowhere near ready for Pascal, Dawson, Cloud, Shemunov, Hopkins or Silaykh. He gets hit too much, look how much Bellew hit him ffs.

Cleverly would get exposed. Joe was at least in a division with skill old school skills which helped him with Hopkin's. Joe experienced explosive fighters who had some skills, while Cleverly has been fighting straight up bums with noi head/body movement like Hopkin's.
