Comments Thread For: Luis Cruz Working Hard With New Trainer Pedro Diaz

Puerto Rico's Luis Cruz (19-1, 15KOs) is looking to recover from the first setback of his pro career. Last November he lost a ten round majority decision to Juan Carlos Burgos. After a month, Cruz has settled in with his new team in the city of Orlando, Florida. The team is led by renowned Cuban coach Pedro Luis Diaz, who trains WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto.

JuanMa is a moron. Someone fed him some good **** on his way up making him believe his power was singularly dispositive way to murder all his opponents. He doesn't deserve to be trained by PDL for his actions in respect to Caballero.

I'm surprised that Diaz isn't dedicating this training camp strictly to Cotto.

Assuming that Cotto can't train for 18-24 hours a day

I think there is ample time for a little for guys like Cruz and Solis to get work in at lower levels of comp while Cotto prepares for the big cheese. I think Cruz can get some sparring to with Cotto, to help with speed and agility of fighting someone as quick as Mayweather. Plus when Cotto is putting in the road work with this strength coach, PDL can be either studying Money tape or working w/ Solis and Cruz.

I just hope he can give 100% of his energy and focus to Cotto. And that he doesn't get distracted with Solis and Cruz.

Cruz is like Juanma, they like to see the work their punches do instead of moving there heads.

Cruz got hit with a lot of left hook. A simple adjustment to keep his right up and sometimes going under it should help him alot.
