Well whoever has that title by the end of the year is who Jr is going to fight. Then there will be an endless streak of defenses against bums.

I think with the right conditioning and nutrition plan he could make 160 for a couple more years, it's not like he's ripped to shreds at the weigh ins. Only reason he'll move up is because Top Rank won't let him get iced by Martinez.

Say what? At this stage Taylor would get murdered. Yes he's more skilled than Barker and Macklin who gave Martinez problems but these guys were fresh and had never been stopped before.

I'll take Chavez Jr by TKO in 8 or 9 rounds. Martinez is too small and doesn't punch hard enough. Chavez will make it a war. Julio is a wonderful inside fighter.

This is where Julio makes his first real mark on the way to winning titles at 168, 175 and maybe even cruiser.

Co-sign; September is almost half a year away from now. What are Martinez and Jr. gonna do in the interim? Do they fight other opponents or just stay dormant on sidelines? Martinez is in his prime and cannot squander that being inactive for months on end.

If they are serious about fighting in Sept then HBO should showcase both fighters on a doubleheader to build up the fight.

Yes that's exactly what they're going to do. JCC is fighting on June 16 in El Paso, TX. Martinez talking about fighting in July/August

Martinez seems like a decent guy - why is everybody so eager to see his career ended?
