I agree. You have to consider that Kessler has had a long layoff from his injury. Him fighting a guy like Green isn't too shabby for a comeback fight. As far as questioning his opposition, that's a no brainer. The guy has paid his dues. I'm sure after he dismantles Green and gets some of that ring rust off, he'll go after the big names.

I don't like that Sauerland forced Kessler, who's a natural SMW, to move up. That being said then this fight isnt the worst that could be made. Green is known in the US and he went 12 rounds with André Ward despite being drained. Now Green fights at his proper weight while Kessler is beefed up.

If the dane can better Wards perfomance it sends a signal and keeps the donor open for a Ward/Bute/Froch fight or a clash with the Dawson/Hopkins winner.

At this age, and considering layoffs and injuries, he's probably overdue to go up. Kessler is a big Super Middle.

Every single one of those fights would require Kessler to leave Denmark.

Sauerland seems content to get him easy fights, at home, where they can control the outcome.

I don't really take Kessler seriously at this point. He's not going to land the Ward fight without leaving his home, and after all the crying he did last time I cant imagine him doing so.

It seems to me that he is fighting on because he can and because the Danish fans will pay to watch him fight a corpse. He can make a few more dollars and retire comfortably without risking any serious injury.

Of course pretending he wants bigger fights is an important part of keeping the public from turning on him. As are the stories of him being "lowballed" every time a big fight comes up.

Kessler is a soft wimp picking the easiest fights

Kessler wants the easiest way out but wants paid. My eye hurts, my hand hurts, what a wimp. it is sickening this cupcake is even in boxing. Allen green is a 4 round fighter who is terrible. I thought green retired after all those sad performances. Kessler should be ashamed to call himself a fighter. But most Euros are soft and weak.

No doubt Green is softer than other fights would be, but Kessler has done more than his share on the road. Dude has had a lot of physical issues. If he wants to work one out at home, I don't see it as a big deal. what comes after Green will say a lot more about how much more his team/he really thinks he's got left.
