Should be a fun little scrap. Hopefully they air it on Showtime.

I don't like that Sauerland forced Kessler, who's a natural SMW, to move up. That being said then this fight isnt the worst that could be made. Green is known in the US and he went 12 rounds with André Ward despite being drained. Now Green fights at his proper weight while Kessler is beefed up.

If the dane can better Wards perfomance it sends a signal and keeps the donor open for a Ward/Bute/Froch fight or a clash with the Dawson/Hopkins winner.

Crap fight. Kessler back to his old tricks of fighting opponents who won't give him a hard time.

Quit making excuses for this robot.

Green sucks and always fails on the big screen.

I would rather he have fought the other euro bums instead of this clown.

A lot more money at 175 I think. A fight with pascal makes sense, as does one with Cloud and/or the Hop/Dawson winner. I think it's a smart move. Plus, for all we know, Kessler may be better fit at the weight. He's been pushing his punches without any snap lately - usually signs of a pretty decent weight cut.

Its better than fighting Brian Magee but thats not saying much.

I actually think its an even-ish fight. Both guys are fairly irrelevant at this point. Kessler is injury prone and Green is prone to choking. Both are pretty mentally weak too.

I'm not excusing anything. I'd rather have him fighting stieglitz, but Sauerland reserves him for Abraham. I listed the positives I see in this fight. So Green is not a worldbeater, but Kessler has had 2 fights in 2 years and cannot possibly be on top of his game particularly not in a new division.

I'd have rather seen stieglitz followed by Ward and some sweet revenge. Oh well...

During his injuryrelated absence following the Froch fight, Kessler walked around at about 173 lbs, so no Way LHW is natural.

Every single one of those fights would require Kessler to leave Denmark.

Sauerland seems content to get him easy fights, at home, where they can control the outcome.

I don't really take Kessler seriously at this point. He's not going to land the Ward fight without leaving his home, and after all the crying he did last time I cant imagine him doing so.

It seems to me that he is fighting on because he can and because the Danish fans will pay to watch him fight a corpse. He can make a few more dollars and retire comfortably without risking any serious injury.

Of course pretending he wants bigger fights is an important part of keeping the public from turning on him. As are the stories of him being "lowballed" every time a big fight comes up.
