Bruseles is a journeyman at best. He's been on spanish TV a few times. He hasn't done anything or beaten anyone worth mentioning.
What a joke! I find it hard to believe that there isnt atleast ONE decent middle wt. out there that would like a shot at Nard's belts! Is he the problem, you think? Negotiating himself out of deals again or something?

Bruseles is fighting Floyd not Hopkins.
The reason this fight is happening is because Floyd really doesn't have an opponent out there.
Top Rank's plan was to get him in position to fight Gatti. He fought Corley to be the #1 contender then when he became the #1 contender Gatti's people got cold feet and didn't want the fight all of a sudden leaving Floyd out in the cold.
I agree there are better guys to fight, but given Floyd's past history of taking the tough fights I'll give him a pass on this one.

Oops...laugh with me instead of at me
Well that makes sense..if Gatti did pull out then I guess that doesnt really leave a long list of other potentials..too bad
Bruseles is a good test for Floyd at 140, Bruseles might be a journeyman, but he got pwr on both hands and good defense...plus he's being manage by Cotto's team and sparring with Cotto for this fight...I hope he looks good against Floyd...
heel yeah tito rematch with hopkins (in which it looks like tito will be ko'ed even earlier)
mayorga and vargas return at same weight class...dlh and mosely back down to welter and KT might be coming up..gatti will fight either floyd or KT...great great year...
tyson is coming back..VK will continue to prove people wrong but most of all castillo vs corrales is not far away..good times goos times...
Vitali has expressed how has wont let this 05 year end without ko;ing toney which was great lol..i wanna see that fight
I can't wait for this year to get started, I agree it will be an exciting year of championship boxing.
2004 was surely a great year for boxing. We saw some excellent fights in the lower divisions The action-packed Barrera-Morales part 3, the thriller fight between Pacman and Marquez were the top candidates for the Fight of the Year award. We also saw the top featherweights Pacman an and Marquez won their tune-up bouts against Fahsan 3K-Battery and Orlando Salido respectively. We also witnessed Barrera's comeback win against the aging Paulie Ayala and Injin Chi's beating of Michael Brodie.
We also saw some big names reduced to pupls this year. Who can forget Shane Mosley's two losses to Winky Wright this year and the two devastating ko of Roy Jones by Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson.
Other notable fights of the year were Vitali's winsagainst Corie Sanders and Danny Williams. Of course there was Tito Trinidad's comeback against Mayorga and Kostya Tsyzu's cementing of his P4P status against Sharmba Mitchell. There were Mayweather's victory over DeMarcus Corley and Oscar Dela Hoya's controversial win against Felix Sturm.
There was the megabuck fight Bernard Hopkins (won) vs DelaHoya, also the battle between Roy Jones' conquerors Tarver and Glen Johnson (won), and Monty Barrett's win over Guinn.
This year a few rising stars also made waves in Miguel Cotto's back to back victory over Lovemore N'Dou and so were Jermain Taylor's victories over Alex Bunema and William Joppy. We also saw Brian Villoria and Ysrael Vazquez winning at least two of their fights this year.
