You're entitled to your opinion but other great lightweight champs like Delahoya, Armstrong, Duran all lost in their 160 lb title bids. Floyd would be the first out of that group to do so, and would simultaneously tie the record for most lineal titles won by a fighter in history.

That means more to me for a fighter's legacy than beating a guy who was outboxed in his last bout.

The Pacquiao fight has lost it's shine. Even the biggest Pacquiao fans if they are being honest know that Mayweather beats him. Martinez is the only challenge for Mayweather.

Martinez is the way bigger challenge at 160. Floyd is the heavy favourite against Pac, and Pac just lost to Marquez.
Since when did 1/2 become a heavy favorite?

If the fight were to get signed next year tons of Mayweather money would be pouring in and you know it.

Sergio fight at 160 is winnable and over time would mean a lot more than the Manny fight.

He would sure earn some mad respect after that one. Not that there aren't people that already give him lots of credit.

We all know who's the favorite, that's not what you said, you said he was the "heavy favorite". Mayweather vs Ortiz opened up at 10/1, Mayweather vs Cotto opened up at 8/1, now it's at 5/1. Pacquiao vs Mayweather opened up at 2/1 and it hasn't changed in 3 years.

                    Fight Martinez

beating pacquiao mainly pleases the casuals

beating Martinez weighs more in the eyes of boxing nerds like us. last time I checked it's boxing nerds that sit there to beat off over another man's legacy and rank it
