Comments Thread For: ShoStats: Garcia Was Busier, Ugas Was More Accurate

Late sub Johnny Garcia was the busier fighter. Cuba's Yordenis Ugas was more accurate and landed the harder punches. Garcia was down in round five, but managed to win a ten round split decision with the judges to give Ugas his first defeat. ShoStats are courtesy of CompuBox.

Was a decent fight that i thought Ugas won but his lack of aggression cost him the fight. I give a lot of respect to Garcia for sticking to his gameplan even though he was overmatched and giving Ugas all he could handle. That being said i still think Ugas should of got the Nod with his accuracy and the Knockdown. Both guys probably benefited from this fight as Garcia will surely be thrown to the Wolves by the TV networks with his all action style and Ugas now understands what fighting like a Mexican means. Ugas should work on his conditioning as he looked tired after round 7 and to be more aggressive. But thats just how i saw it

Ugas won the figth but he failed to EARN it. Garcia on the other hand showed uncanny heart and brass balz. The kid earned my respect and all watch more of him.

Garcia earned the win, and he got it.

        Good fight!
