Just saw the three fights this weekend. So he's my opinion of the possible round-robbin match up of the three (should they all be in the same division).
Of the three fights, I must say that Hatton's fierce style is the sloppiest. Hatton is barbaric. He fights like an enraged pittbull. You do not want to be in his range or you will be smashed to the face and ribs and he's so wild, only your forearms will hit him coz he's already in your chest gutting your belly. He turns boxing into a fight. Gentleman's sport? Not for Hatton.
Cotto goes by the book of sweet science. He's precise, reserved, conservative but deadly consistent with his output. Almost too methodical that he could be timed for a counter. He is the most fundemental of the three for he uses his jabs the most, stays behind his gloves and has his chin always tucked in. A Classic pugilist. His rythm is becoming too predictable.
Mayweather is the slickest, hit-you-where-he-ain't type fighter and he will crack your jaw and ribs almost at will. He looks open for a punch but then he's so quick, he's already hit his opponent 3 hard times and seems untouchable. He can soften up his opponents rather quickly only a wild looping punch can catch him....and that's rare.
Hatton is the dark horse of the three. He;s the one who will make the other two fight his fight because he's just too crazy. Against Cotto, he will lose the first half of the fight but will impose his will and KO Cotto in the later rounds because he's a miniature version of Conan the Barbarian. Against Mayweather, he will lose by a close UD. He's not as fast and will not be able to deal with Mayweather's relentless counter punching and craftiness. He does have the puncher's chance but he doesn't possess the long looping counter punch that can catch Mayweather as he comes in (as Corley was able to do). Mayweather/Castillo II proved that Mayweather can readjust to bullying tactics and win by UD.
