Why? We've already seen Gatti get exposed in the worst way and his corner doesnt wanna see him all swollen up again like against Floyd.

Hatton is the IBF and WBA Champ he doesn't need to waste his time and health on this guy.

He wants Gatti, Cotto and Mayweather, if its a mandatory defence then so be it but other that why would he possibly take the fight???

Augustus is a waste of time for anybody, if he focused yes he might be something in the division. But he is nothing because he is too ******, he cant just box, he has to be the star of the show. Not the focused boxer. After he beat Oliveira everyone started thinking of him as a contender, why? he dances around and wastes time. He cant fool a good boxer.

My only question is has he found renewed focus on boxing and not dancng? The guys reflexes are amazing, and the fact that he can play around in the ring, show how skilled he actually is, if he turns to a more serious and precise measure of attack I think he's still a legit threat to anyone at 140.

This comes down to the same old, same old. No offense to a talented fighter but he's contradicting himself. He is saying that Hatton keeps taking fighters "on the way down". Well by Augustas's own admission in this interview he's looking to close out his career. That's not an 'up and coming' fighter.
Secondly, this would not answer any questions either for the aficianados or for the casual fans. It would not make Hatton money or increase his standing. This would only be useful if no other major challenges were available.
His critics (mostly rabid) shout about his unwillingness to take on a major challenge. Well sorry, but there are a few higher rated fighters out there who will present a far higher perceived challenge. I personally am opposed to a Gatti fight. It's a cash fight, hard earned, but merely a cash fight. Fun to watch but not defining. It's time for Ricky to face the best. Win or lose it's the only way to define his career.
Augustus is good but undisputably not the best.

Well, Gatti is a never was. I think fighting somebody that never was is worst than fighting somebody who's career is winding down.

Let Augustus keep fighting prospects.Hatton isn't a prospect so i don't think he needs to fight him,3or4 fights ago i would of said yes.
