Oxnard,Ca. --- Former world champion Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios,Oxnard,Ca. works on strength and conditioning Thursday for his upcoming World Lightweight title fight against Cuban gladiator and WBA interim lightweight champion Richard Abril on Saturday, April 14 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, live on Pay Per View. Also on this championship double-header telecast is Juan Manuel Marquez, who will go for a historic fourth world title in as many different weight divisions when he takes on WBO European junior welterweight champion Sergey Fedchenko for the vacant WBO interim 140-pound world title. Has anyone ever seen a pic of bam bam training without a sweat jacket on??
Abril isnt the most blessed fighter to come out of cuba but he has a few things that work for him. He measures with his left hand and likes to fire a long right hand to the head and body. He moves ok, and is bit of a spoiler in close. Whether he can handle rios is another thing...but if rios takes him lightly, he might be in a spot of bother. Abril isnt hopeless.Comment
