this is boxing and anything can happen...... but cotto beating floyd is highly unlikely.

not only does he not have the boxing skills but no physical advantage either.

he doesn't have the speed , he doesn't have the technical skills , he doesn't have the size advantage , he doesn't have the strength......

he has nothing to offer.

marg say a few year ago at least got the chin/durability thing , mosley had the power , judah had the speed to match him , pac has that and he got the southpaw style , ortiz had the size and youth...... something that makes the fight going in interesting.

I agree that Mayweather should win and more than likely will. I also think that Mayweather edges Cotto in every boxing attribute with the exception of power. I do think Cotto is a better fighter than those other guys u mentioned and has clearly fought a tougher ww resume.

i don't even know about the power part tbh.

neither guy really has one shot power..... but think back to recent years...... who has the more impressive one punch knockdown/knockout?

cotto is more a beat them down , wear them down type.

floyd's power is underrated. he has solid power. he can hurt you when he throws it heavy. floyd just doesn't do it enough..... maybe because of his hand injuries.


better than pac? marg? hmmm..... maybe better than judah or ortiz.

but either way..... that's not the point. i listed a few guys that had something to offer in a floyd fight. something interesting that makes you think.

like prime marg's chin and durability and size.

pac's southpaw stance and his own speed and stamina.

judah had the handspeed and overall speed to match if not exceed floyd going in.

just examples. not saying they would have or should have beat floyd but things they offered that makes you think he might have a chance.

i see nothing in cotto , nothing at all that can make the fight interesting.

Depends on how FMJ will treat Cotto. If he treats him like RJJ treated Ruiz, this fight will end up being booed all the way to the 12th round. And Floyd wins again with his zero intact. The similarity may not be accurate, but you could tell when RJJ's winning streak is about to end in that fight.
