The adviser to the Argentine Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez Lewkovicz Sampson announced that the promoter Bob Arum, representing the Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., broke off all negotiations to arrange a fight between the Argentine and the boxer of Sinaloa, WBC middleweight champion.
Lewkovicz in a telephone conversation with Telam, said early on Wednesday that Arum, head of Top Rank, "decided to cut" unilaterally any negotiations for the realization of combat. "disrespected Arum to Martinez, manager Lou DiBella, to me and the entity that the Mexican president Jose Sulaiman, "complained Lewkovicz. Martinez won the WBC middleweight title in the ring (against Kelly Pavlik in April 2010) and withdrew it on a desk at the end of that year, with the promise that he would have his chance to dispute the scepter at the earliest, by which they declared Champion Emeritus (super champion) of the division of 72.574 kilos. At the end of last week, before the knockout of Martinez Matthews Macklin against England in New York, the environment of Argentina received encouraging news on the completion of litigation between Quilmes and junior Chavez: Las Vegas would host the match in September. But Arum again reversed with negotiations for the showdown WBC middleweight title, despite its repeated junior Sulaiman said Chavez "must defend the green belt-gold against Argentina." The World Council will now have to go out to clarify the situation, as it had recently informed that the parties had 30 days to reach a financial settlement and otherwise the fight would go to auction, as required by the regulations. In this situation, promoter Lou DiBella, Martinez's attorney, did not rule in New York knockout American James Kirkland as a possible rival to the Argentine if the lawsuit does not go through with Chavez junior. "If Kirkland wants to fight, fight with him tomorrow," said DiBella. "We will fight with Kirkland at any time, but if you want the fight, will have to compete for the middleweight title. Martinez did not lose weight, "he said promoter York. Kirkland (30-1-0 - 27 KO), 28-year-old from Austin, Texas, is scheduled to fight on Saturday against Carlos Molina in a round of the the WBC super welterweight category in Houston. The only defeat of his career it was the Japanese Nobuhiro Ishida, who knocked the April 9, 2011, in Las Vegas, the night he defeated Argentina's Marcos Maidana decision to Mexican Erik Morales.

Arum needs to just get out of the business.

Sure there are some good Top Rank fights- Juanma & Salido. But the guy has milked Pacquiao to the point he's become unpopular. Arum has personally led to the destruction of the Martinez fight, and in so doing actually hurt Chavez more.

Top Rank tries all these strong-arm tactics with Gamboa & Chavez Jr.- they just suck, plain and simple. There was no Juanma-Gamboa match when it could've been meaningful, Bob said "**** what the fans want".

Promoters have become obstacles to the success of boxing.
