A week after his arrival to the mountains of Big Bear, California, Mexican champion Saul Alvarez began his sparring sessions. The ruler of the junior middleweight division, under the World Boxing Council, is preparing to address the most important battle of his successful career. He faces former three division champion Shane Mosley on May 5 in Las Vegas. Canelo sparred for four rounds, with each round spanning five minutes, and he showed a lot of strength. Canelo is training in the cold enviorment under Chepo and Edison Reynoso.

No matter what happens in the first 5 rounds Alvarez know Mosley will go into survival mode after that.

Canelo will shine this year. 21 years old and at least hes trying to fight the big names. Chavez jr is 25 and hiding from the big names. If he gets by Mosley, big things will come, but shane will be no walk in the park thats for sure.

Doesn't Mosley also train at Big Bear? Or was that only for the Mayweather fight, since Naz's HQ is at Philly.

It would be rather awkward to be doing road work while your opponent runs up and overtakes you

You have just been fooled. The way you make it sound like he is fighting a big name like a top dog. Shame Mostly is no top dawg, he is a pre historic dinosaur. He is at the point where he is just a name living off what he did in his prime. Canelo is not fighting big names/top fighters, just recognized last names.
