What is the scoop with Glove Weight: Cotto vs FMJr.

    So,

Do anyone has any factual info regarding the decision on the weight of gloves?

    8oz or 10oz?

    Post link if any.

According to both teams it is 8oz. There was something posted here a couple weeks back about it.

Those 8oz. gloves are going to tear Cotto's face up. It is funny because people think Floyd is crazy for asking for them, but in reality he isn't. He will be even faster and sharper and it will slice up Cotto, since his face opens up so easily now. Granted Floyd's face will be that more in danger too but Floyd rarely gets cut so he is probably not too concerned. This will be a good fight and I would never count Cotto out, but I think the speed and accuracy of Floyd is going to be a big problem for him. Unless Cotto can use his jab very effectively, use constant combinations and keep Floyd on the ropes or in the corner and wail away on him (especially to the body), I can't picture him winning.

Thing is lighter gloves don't make for easier KO's as people think, heavier gloves have more of a "thud", and make for more of a concussive blow. Smaller gloves mean more broken bones and cuts, but not necessarily more knockouts, unless they come just because of speed. So that debunks the excuse that the glass chinned MMA **** use when they always get dropped with 1 punch, "oh it is because we use smaller gloves!". No it is because none of you have any punch resistance.

How is that if Floyd has always fought with 8oz gloves with the exception of the Oscar fight.

His will either maintain his speed or be slower (as he gets older). Cotto on the other hand, will be moving to the lighther glove, and it may aid with his speed.

Exactly, Cotto will get on his bike and hold your arms and hug you. Mayweather might go into the ropes and dodge all your shots but he doesn't run..

Mayweather was beating the dog **** and walking down a 165 lb Ortiz.....Cotto does not have the size or speed of Ortiz. Ortiz is a much quicker fighter than Cotto. Cotto is getting stopped in this fight.
