Marquez is a great fighter. and he deserves a lot better. main events, attractions, because he has earned it. but why is he still fighting unknown guys that doesnt make sense? why not follow pac and mayweather because he is at their level of greatness? create hype, earn money and be at HBO 24/7... hes on the way to the end of his career yet he still has time for this useless fights?

I assume it is because he doesn't want to risk losing to some younger fighter like Rios or Guerrero. I think he beats them both but they are risky nonetheless. I think he is waiting for a big money fight after this. Pacquiao 4? Most likely. Pacquiao has hinted towards retiring. If Arum doesn't fix the Bradley in favor of giving him the decision and "creating" the new PPV star and letting Pacquiao retire then and there then I think we will see Marquez 4.

I respect both your opinion, but JMM is old school. He doesn't want to be like these guys today who fight twice a year for big money. He's more like James Toney, where although he's great, he'd rather stay busy than do nothing.

You should be excited that fighters like him still exist. Fighters who can reach or are at the top but are still willing to stay busy

He is a tough out for anybody. He adjusts on the fly and will take rounds from you. People don't want to fight him because with the exception of Floyd nobody has ever made him look bad. He is a stylistic nightmare for anyone because he will fight however he needs to in order to win rounds.

He just schooled Pacquiao so badly that an entire country spent 3 days in mourning and then showed up with "foot stomp trick" videos and started telling everyone Pac won in slow-motion .
