bojangles, you took the words right out of my mouth, in answering whether fmj, could beat a prime tommy hearns any differently, than what srl did...people tend to forget, that the only loss on tommy hearns record, @ 147, was to srl, my man...

Can floyd can't beat tommy the way SRL or Hagler did. No. Can floyd use his reach, defense and movement to beat hearns, yes.
Floyd's reach doesn't mean crap when Hearns's reach is six inches longer. And I wouldn't be entirely sure Floyd's defense is that much better than Wilfredo Benitez, if at all. Hearns's size and style is completely wrong for Floyd, no way around it.

Hearns, Leonard etc... They were the best of the best in their day... top of their game, just as Floyd, Manny, RJJ etc are all the best of their day... none are levels above one another, they are all fantastic but although I pick Hearns as the guy everyone would want to avoid due to his awkwardness and power... just watch the 2nd round in that video and tell me they're on another level to RJJ, Floyd or Manny or any of the other greats.
IMO RJJ smokes Hearns as he is too big, too quick, too powerful and Floyd is a bit small but the Floyd of 140/135 at 147 could beat Hearns over 12 IMO.

agree with last sentence but I think there is an underestimation of floyds skill. The key to the fight is floyd avoiding the bomb. I trust he can do just that.

craigus, rj, is definitely way shorter than tommy hearns, and i'd have to strongly disagree, that jones jr., would be that much bigger, than tommy hearns, @ 160...due to the fact that, tommy hearns, grew into the 160 lb. division quite naturally, due to being 6' 2" inches, and being able to capture titles @ the 168 & 175 lb. division, as jones did, and if i'm not mistaken, the 190 lb. division, and tommy hearns, as srl, duran, and hagler, found out, was a master boxer, with a great jab, better than average left hook, laser beam right hand, and was just as fast, my man...we not talking about de la hoya, or trinidad here...lol...it would be foolish, to say that rj, would smoke, or murk, tommy hearns, based on tale of the tape, he would only do so, only because rj, would be the better fighter...

i would love to see, if rj, could take the same right hand, that tommy hearns rocked marvin hagler's world with, cut hagler, and made hagler realize, he had to take tommy out asap, my man...

Hearns dominates Floyd en route to a 15 or 12 rounds UD. I believe Floyd would be able to avoid the KO.

Hearns vs RJJ is a very interesting fight, and given their styles and physicalities, I give the edge to Hearns.

Roy Jones Jr was 2X times faster then Floyd at his fastest imagined speed. AT ***ING LHW. Did you even see Roy when he was a middle weight or SuperMW?

The smaller Roy was the faster he got. Saying Floyd beat Roy P4P you musta forgot.
Get it rite, Roy was 2x faster than the other MW/SMW he faced.
As the divs get smaller, most the guys you face have some sort of speed. The higher divs, power means more. But if you have both, well you look like Roy did.
But what happens when you put someone in there just as fast, but more skillfull and the only atvantage is your power?
You get picked apart, looking for that one punch.

And people forget, Floyds got some lungs! His greatest gift is his condition, Hearns would be stuck looking to land that one punch.
