Nah i disagree.. Macklin has known issues with stamina late in fights so he started to slow down while Martinez fought at pretty much the same tempo the whole fight, he had better stamina.. thats all it is.. If Macklin had improved stamina I think he almost certainly would have taken Sergio the full 12 and maybe even won the fight but he started to slow down very noticeably, he just couldn't keep up the pace.. Sergio kept up the same pace and as soon as Macklin slowed down enough Sergio was able to land some great shots..

Its just a stamina issue with Macklin, rather than Sergio "looking bad on purpose"..

Thing is Sergio didnt look so bad , just because Barker and Macklin were not big name fighters they were very solid and strong MWs , their the biggest risk because the Marquee fighter has trouble getting up and the opponent is fighting the fight of his life , Sergios timing and speed is on the money he is punching with power , he is going very well at the moment , I really dont see what you guys going on about sometimes , its like if you cant see a clear bashing you dont see anything .

Oddly enough, Larry Merchant looked more out-of-breath asking interview questions than Sergio did after the fight.

he wasn't feeling the competition until he had a KD ruled against him that's when he remembered he was in a fight and not a sparring match.

I think he just took his time to break Macklin down. I don't think he was ever in any danger of losing.
