Macklin did the same thing shane mosley did to pacquiao

He played complete defense and fought and countered off martinez's aggression- thats why they look bad.

The difference between last night and may 5 though is that shane mosley found out he couldnt counter manny and when he did, he couldnt slow him down.

just like floyd cant slow him down

      So dumb.

      Shane pushed Pac.

Macklin punched Sergio, and then the pathetic, uncoordinated n00b tripped.

Are you seriously comparing a Shane, who was scared to engage and in retreat mode all night, to a guy in Macklin, who fought to win and had the fight dead even heading into the 10th/11th round.

          Disagree on every level.

Macklin fought to win, which completely invalidates the comparison. Mosley was just kinda there. He either made his mind up beforehand, or decided very early on that he didn't want to put himself in harms way.

Lastly, Sergio stepped it up late and got Macklin outta there. Manny-Mosley was a repetitive ****fest for 12 rounds.

The only thing Larry said that I respect and agree with from last night was, a guy can strike out 4 times, but it he hits that 3-run home run in the bottom of the 9th, he had a great night.

Your and idiot it was nothing like a shot Mosley , Macklan was young strong , was punching hard and everything was loaded , Sergio broke him down and KOed him , Pac couldnt catch or cut off an old shot scared fighter who showed once again Pac is lost in crampworld when you can box with skill , Pac likes Cwed drained slow fighters or old shot ones , and now that the CW crap has caught up to him he fights JWWs but calls himself a WW but CWs inside the WW division , lol piss of with your Pac bullsheeet !

macklin would've won that fight if he didn't run out of gas

Sergio doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the P4P status let alone in the same sentence as Pac

Mosley didn't counter, he didn't even try.

I've said it before, but Shane's been gun-shy since round 4 of the Mayweather fight. He was getting countered to death and got scared to throw, he's been that way since. Againt Manny, Shane collected a big pay-day and ran away.

Macklin fought, and tried to win.

nah, I think it's different because Shane Mosley was not there at all and was not trying to win. Macklin actually brought in a good gameplan and gave Martinez some trouble. Martinez spent 2 months training to fight against a completely different style, so I could understand being a little befuttled when Macklin did not fight like his usual self. Martinez' main sparring partner was Brian Vera, an aggresive fighter, so Martinez most likely trained fighting backwards as a counterpouncher. He ended up being forced to be the aggressor, which wasn't something he was expecting to do (or trained for) so he took him a while to adjust.

While the fights were very different, I think a more apt comparison of the hate Martinez is getting is how JMM's (a p4p guy) struggled against Katsidis and Juan Diaz. No one in the right mind would call those guys p4p elite fighters, but they still gave JMM hell. But he got the job done, which is what counts. I don't hear anyone calling JMM an overrated bum.

I actually thought the same thing, because prior to him gassing in the 10th, he was on his way to victory and really timing/countering the **** outta Sergio.

Fatigue set in, he stop moving his head as much and paid for it.
