It always pisses me off when someone in a fight lands several good punches in a round, but HBO decides not showcase any of them during the minute break. Most of time these slowmo replays are a ton more interesting than what's going on in the corners so I don't understand why they're left out. Especially since HBO tends to mostly use that far away wide screen angle that shows the entire ring, it's hard to get a good look at the punches since the fighters are so small in the screen. Is it really so much to set aside 15 seconds of that minute break in every round for this purpose?
HBO needs to show more slowmo round highlights

IMO they need to come out with an APP for smartphones where you have different angles of the fight (like TNT Overtime) and you can choose from 4 instant replays or so during rounds. It could also keep track of the stats and stuff.. I would pay 99 for it happily. It would make the experience that much more interactive and better. -
they need to learn from RTL. Watch any Wlad or Vitali fight in Germany. 90% of the rest period is used to show ultra-slow mo punches that were landed during the round. Very rarely do they even show the corners.
HBO doesnt want to spend the money or people I guess to do it.Comment

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. I don't even think it would cost extra since HBO already have some guys doing that.they need to learn from RTL. Sometimes HBO spends 10 seconds showing the fighters getting up from the corner. What the hell is the purpose of that? Why would anyone be interested in seeing that? Play some damn highlights.
The only time they should show the corner is when a fighter gets cut or they're coming off a bad beating or knockdown in that round. Or at least just spend 30 second on that. Use the rest of the time to show some slowmotion punches.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 03-18-2012, 05:39 PM.Comment
