Just call the damn fight! Or even worse they can be the opposite and nutthug a fighter to an extreme point.

I'm tired of them. Get rid of all of them. Get some fresh blood and more positive, exciting announcers. And Max Kellerman isn't the answer either he's an annoying twat as well.
I have no problem with SHOWTIME. I never mute them out.

I thought it was a boring fight for the most part. There was basically only a punch here and a punch there(one punch at a time), which makes for a pretty boring fight. Wasn't until Martinez got knocked down / tripped, that he actually came alive and started making it interesting. I pretty much agree with the criticizing, because I was doing it long before they were.

Martinez is a good fighter, but he needs fighters like Paul Williams to push him to make his fights exciting.

like they wanted Martinez to lose
That seems to happen ****load of times. It just shows their true colors. They'll acknowledge and credit missed punches as landing punches if it's the guy that they're selling/hyping to the casual audience[pushing their agenda]that's throwing them, but they'll barely acknowledge the best punches landing from other the guy. I think Lampley does it on purpose.

damn i watched boxingguru uk so i only heard those commentators... hbo be some biased ass *****es, it seems to me more and more that their job is to hype up a chavez jr and put down a martinez. They got some *****ass agendas, but I like when Merchant is there because although he a wangsucker, his drunkass says some funny ass **** sometimes.

Martinez beat his ass bad at the end, Macklin got heart and Buddy Mcgirt is a great trainer, giving him great advice after round 1 or 2 telling him to shoot that right hand to the body, and making the decision to stop it. Buddy Mcgirt gots control in his corner and gives smart advice. Martinez once again turns up the pace for the late rounds like last fight and vs. pavlik, as well vs cintron and pwill 1. Good fight.

Yup. I tuned in to the Spanish broadcast after the first round but they're horrible so I switched it back and just dealt with it. I watched enough Mayweather fights that I'm kind of use to it by now. Still, I wish they get some new people in there.

They need to fire him and put Max Kellerman in the ring. Merchant is way past it.
                This right here^^^^^

Merchant is just getting worse and worse. I remember during the Sergio vs Barker fight, might of been the 5th or 7th round Steward was making a comment that he'd like Sergio to BOX more, use his lateral movement, slip punches, fire off a combo and turn Barker. The next thing out of Merchant's mouth was "So you want Martinez to run?" I swear man, he's been AROUND boxing for a long time but it doesn't seem as if Merchant KNOWS boxing. Either that or he's just wants people to stand there with little to no defense and slug it out and if not then he hates on them. A shame really

In the third round, the crowd starting chanting MAR-TI-NEZ, but Jim Lampley said "here comes the boos." I was like WTF?
