    Sergio Is Becoming Underrated

Everyone is starting to hate on him. He's also suffering from the fact that people think he's now going to kill everyone so he's being judged on a curve.

To me Sergio's only problem is focus because he's not getting the big fights he wants. He looks like Silva in the UFC. How he's just clowning around. It looks like he's in a sparring session where he only halfway cares.

Im watching the fight with my girl and Im telling her that he has very bad focus in the ring. Like Zab. It reminded me of Lewis-Rahman 1. You could tell Sergio was the much better fighter but he's not all the way into it while Macklin is fighting his heart out.

People are saying that he wasnt impressive until the 8th or he didnt do anything until the 8th but what happened then? He got dropped in the 7th on a B.S. call. Thats what really won him the fight.

If that didnt happen then he probably looks the same way the whole fight but after he got dropped, you could instantly see a change in him. His focus was now there the rest of the fight and then you saw the seperation between the 2. They were not 1 but 2 levels apart.

Sergio just has a focus problem and the only way to get him back to being dominant is to put him in with a top notch guy. He's just not motivated to fight the Barker's & Macklin's of the world anymore. He wants either Floyd or Chavez next. Anyone else and you probably are going to see another performance like the last 2.

Still, you can clearly see that he has that extra gear in him. Ive been telling people for the longest that I think Floyd would beat him. I always said he would win because I cant see anyone beating Floyd who keeps there hands down the whole fight.

Still, Sergio is very dangerous and can change any fight with 1 shot due to him being a Southpaw with good speed & deceptive power. He's also got the pure boxing ability to set up the quick shot that you dont see. Thats going to be hell for anyone to deal with and no one still has a chance from 160 down if he's motivated besides Floyd

    I agree, totally.

Martinez has looked pretty bad in his last two outings, but I'm sure it's fairly hard to take Barker and Macklin so seriously after coming off the string of wins he was on. I think he'll be back on form, and the bandwagoners will jump back on, when he fights a top middleweight again.

I just hope its soon, at 37 I wonder how much longer his reflexes will stay around.

Yeah he didnt become a bum overnight but he does get hit a lot. He is a good elite fighter but i think the Williams ko has caused expectations to be too high.

Sergio is a BEAST...Its one thing to see him dominate...its another thing to see him get his nose broken, struggle, then start fighting his ass off, and bust the guy's eardrum...tonight showed me that Sergio is the real deal...I watched the fight with my friend who doesnt watch boxing..he said Martinez was gonna lose...I told him everytime Martinez gets pushed, he only does more and more damage...This fight was AMAZING..Martinez was struggling then he just all of a sudden has the guy leaking..I was like WOWWW..What a FIGHT..Sergio is built for the championship rounds...this guy is the real deal..the heart, and the will to win...EVERYONE should be impressed by how he overcame adversity, because fake champions lose...Sergio is NEVER losing anytime soon!
