Martinez is 5'9; Margarito is 5'10. Why can't Pac fight Sergio?

That's 2 fights out of 6 examples; all 6 including fighters that were massively outweighed.Comment

Either way, Pac is saying "Owww, those punches from the bigger guy hurt".
Well, ummmm Yeah.... Do you think Mayweather, Robinson, and Duran thought they felt good? Of course not, but they still put their bodies through the same suffering multiple times that Manny has the opportunity to put himself through right now.
For that, they deserve to be acknowledged/rewarded for such. Until Manny decides he can go through the same challenge other's went through several times, he won't be rewarded for such like they will.
Simple as that.
Oscar wasn't 20lbs bigger than Floyd. Let's pretend he was, I guess the Hatton (JWW) and Marquez (LW) shows he was willing to continue to fight bigger fighters.
Also, outside of two fights against LaMotta, in which Robinson gave up 14lbs and 15lbs respectively, it wasn't until almost a decade later (against Maxim) that Robinson gave up that much weight against an opponent.
With Duran.....your clearly talking out your @ss.Comment

What do you mean "multiple times"?

Oscar had Floyd by at least 20 lbs. Oscar was 5'11; Ortiz had Mayweather by at least 15 pounds and Baldo was at 13.
You're acting like we're asking Pac to pull off a miracle by fighting Martinez who's all of 5'9 and comes in fight night at or around 162 pounds, which is smaller than Margarito at 150.
Just face it, Manny's not in the same sentence as Duran and Mayweather.
I think you should stick to telling us what basketball players have faster hands than Roy Jones Jr. That is talking out of one's ass. This isn't your thing.Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 03-18-2012, 06:43 PM.Comment

Who remember's the Pacquiao-Margarito Face-Off episode where Margarito asks Roach something along the lines of "How do you know I can't beat Pacquiao?". Roach then responded with "I've seen your last two fights".
This tells me everything I need to know on why Team Pac will fight the bigger Margarito, but not smaller Martinez.
1) Manny tried once at 150lbs then told everyone that 147 is tops for him. What don't you get about that?
2) Margarito has fought at 147 for most of his career and that is where he looked best. Not at 154 and certainly not at 160lbs (see Martinez)
3) Martinez has fought and looked good at 154 and 160lbs.
Margarito vs Manny at 150lbs does not translate to fighting Martinez at 154lbs .... for all the above reasons and more.Last edited by ADP02; 03-18-2012, 07:04 PM.Comment

Barkley and Hearns were 6'1 JMW's. Duran was a 5'7 junior middleweight. Care to tell us how much they weighed on fight night?

You are the one that made that statement, so you tell me?
Also what proof do you have that DLH was 20lbs bigger than Floyd? So are you saying Oscar came in over 170lbs against Floyd?Last edited by Khalid X; 03-18-2012, 07:04 PM.Comment
