Turning 22 in the summer only a month in. Aspirations to compete plan to do atleast a year amateurs.
Too late to become a name in boxing?
Maybe a shot at a title?
    Make a decent living?

Yes, I know I messed up on my title.

It all depends on how skilled you are,and how serious you take it. If you plan to compete at a higher weight class you'll probably find it easier.

tbh If your having to ask this question, you probably don't believe in yourself enough to go far however I wish you good luck mate, go for it, you only live once.

    Martinez started boxing at 20
Nate cambell started boxing in his 20's
davarall williams went pro in his late 20's

If you have natural talent and are willing put in the time training and especially sparring the best you can find. Well then age should not be a factor. 22 is still not very old. Boxers like Chavez jr and tommy hearns' son took up boxing late.

Pacquaio started pro at 16 weighing less than 100 lbs when he fought at 106. 25 is too old but if you good and talented you better start now.

25 years old is not too late.

dedicate everything that you have to it, everything. Then if you have some talent you might have an 8% chance of earning a descent living. If you think that you've got it then it's time to step up and throw the dice aswell as your fists. I'll just tell you that you will find no harder challenge on the planet. The fights are the fun part.......Rockin'

If you would take my advice you wouldn't consider turning pro at any age. Box as an amateur if you feel like it, and you can quit whenever you wish. Be careful whom you spar with. If a pro, taking money will make you feel obligated to get your teeth knocked out to gratify nameless spectators who pay a few dollars to see it. You'd have to be very good also lucky to make a decent living from it.

Otherwise it's a great physical exercise.

I have other reasons also. You've asked advice and I've given mine.
