    Picks, Mayweather- Hatton

Don't be ****s. ****suckers who trash talk and make things unpleasant are the reason I stopped posting here. Honest discussion is worthwhile. Smack talk isn't.

    Whaddya guys think?

My belief is that the only two fighters under 154 who can beat Mayweather are Margarito and Hatton.

Obviously, right now, we're focusing on Hatton. Think about it. Remember back to the Castillo fights. Castillo pushed, fouled, mauled, and ultimately punched his way to Mayweather's closest fight ever. Hatton throws more punches, is larger, throws more accurate combinations, and is younger and fresher than Castillo was. Finally, as I said in another post, Hatton has the ability to break other men's will and confidence. So does Floyd (see Gatti fight) but the sense I get is that Hatton has a stronger will than Floyd. Obviously, that's conjecture. I think it's the key to the fight, though.

    **** off

I still think PBF out slicks hatton, but hel have a very hard nights work, i just dont think hatton will be able to be consistant enough with his workrate to beat PBF, i think both fighters will take alot of good shots but PBF will just be slightly too good getting off the cleaner work when it counts

I would go with Mayweather via decision. Hatton had a difficult time for the first few rounds today not only with maussa's awkwardness but with his movement too i thought. Floyd would not stand in front of hatton at all and has the jab to open that tender face of ricky's pretty quick. Hatton is a tough nut though so he would go the distance unless stopped on cuts

hatton hasnt been cut by a punch for ages, i dont think PBF hits hard enough or will catch him enough to cut him that bad at all if at all, might nick him and swell but not fight threatening cuts

I disagree with you about Floyd's movement. He's becoming more a fighter with every fight. Watch any of his last few tapes and note how much he stays in the pocket. That would be trouble against Hatton.

If Hatton fights like he did last night then he's got no chance. That was far from his best performance - he was just loading up on everything and barely put a decent combo together. At his best I think he breaks PBF down gradually, he's too strong and relentless for little Floyd.

Agreed, if Hatton turns up sharp he'll beat Mayweather but if not then he'll get picked off..........he's looking too strong and too slow, sometimes i think he leave his best work in the gym.

It could be something to do with him not being as active in the last year, especially with the way he blows up between fights. I think he needs to be fighting 3 or 4 times a year to stay sharp.

Maybe, but i'm a little worried that its a mentallity problem....i'm worried that he's feeling stronger so he think thats a good thing, so he'll continue to make himself even stronger, which is **** because you need a good balance speed and strength....i think Cotto's lost his way since he's tried to make himself stronger and i dont want Hatton to do the same thing. Its like the Roid heads who go to a boxing gym, the get ****ed over and they almost look in shock that someone half their size is giving them a beating.......they think being stronger better when really it just makes you slow and easy to hit.

I think the Hatton who fought Stewart would have done a much better job last night.

That could be true maybe he is feels a lot of performance anxiety.

For example: I saw Daniel Ponce De Leon sparring some time ago and I could not believe it was the same wild swinger. The same applies to Margarito though he has gotten better at relaxing putting it to work in the ring.
