According to oversears reports in Panama, WBA featherweight champion Celestino Caballero (36-4, 23KOs) plans to defend his title in mandatory bout against Mikey Garcia (28-0, 24KOs). The WBA informed the Panamanian press that letter was sent to all parties to initiate the 30-day negotiations period. Garcia, ranked at number 1, stopped Bernabe Concepcion in seven rounds on March 10th in Puerto Rico. Caballero fought in December, winning a lopsided decision over Satoshi Hosono in Japan.
